Who We Are

Our dream of creating Sweet Pea Pantry is long in the making…

Late night talks by firepits, on coffee dates, walks with our dog, and on road trips, over the years we talked about the what-ifs and could-bes of Sweet Pea Pantry. We worked out the details in our heads and waited for the time to be right. Then one day we realized the time would never be “right” & we had to just jump in.

Originally from Ohio, I had a plan to be a pastry chef just about the time I could reach the kitchen counter. I moved from the Midwest to the East Coast to attend college in New York, The Culinary Institute of America. My husband, Kevin, is a kind southern man, raised right by his mama, who also had his sights set on being a chef. Our paths led us both to Nashville, TN, where we met both working in the same restaurant. From there we moved to Washington DC, then to the other side of the country to Orcas Island off the coast of Washington State and then Walla Walla, WA, before returning to Kevin’s childhood home, Asheville, NC.

We wanted to create hand made products that come from the heart and bring joy to everyone they touch. Being a bit of a sentimental person, I wanted to name our Pantry something that exemplifies the meaning it has to me and my family. We decided on Sweet Pea, the nickname my dad used to call me when I was a little girl. Now have a Sweet Pea of our own and the tradition will continue. I’m so thankful for the people who have supported us so far and excited to see where this new journey takes us.

Much love,
